- Weapon farming/skills & level grinding
Spartaneus 7 years ago#1 Hey guys, I've gotten to the stage where I'm looking to find some good gear and want to start upgrading. I'm looking to farm unique weapon drops but instead I keep getting mythril/adamantine drops from mob fights with one rank 19 weapon drop every 2 to 3 fights, it seems quite inefficient to farm this way (I'm trying to farm velvet's rank 19 sword in the EX dungeon). I'm playing on intense and I know how to influence drop rates to get the most out of my kills. Second of all, are weapon skills entirely random? In Zestiria you could at least set normin to somewhat influence the skills. In addition, is there any way to force 3 random skills to always be attached to weapons? I'm hoping to platinum this game but some of the grinding trophies are off putting. I'm lv 100 at the moment and I've bought the double xp DLC (not started NG+ yet since as I'd like to do it in one play through if possible but I've heard people say 6x xp is a must). I came across this guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYfvYKnGEq4 and I'm looking into trying this method (I think I can get around 400k xp per fight depending on how I manipulate skills) - is this an efficient method even in later levels? |
Edogawa316 7 years ago#2 I can't really answer your first question but I can help with the second one. The master skill is always the same, the enhancement skills are always the same and the first enhancement skill will always trigger at +1 but the second skill triggering is determined by rng. The random skills are truly random but potentites can effect the level of which ones appear. I am secretly a Weeping Angel, don't tell anyone! |
space244 7 years ago#3 For the weapons you could try to raise the difficulty to chaos, use a dark bottle or try to make it a dangerous encounter(more enemies, better drop rate) Otherwise you could equip a demon's bane and make sure to kill the enemies with velvet to increase drop rate There's only one potentite that affects random skills which boosts the chances of getting the same random skills as the character who killed the enemy. You can also sort of affect random skills by changing difficulty but you'll generally want the highest you can handle. There isn't a way to force equipment to only have 3 skills Bosses give a large amount of exp but you'll end up losing a lot of exp when your party is 7+ levels higher than them because of this sometimes higher difficulties give more exp than lower ones . I can't really say how effective that method is for reaching 200 because the exp you'll get will really drop past 120 or so FC 2320-6129-2666 |
rrojas_1926 7 years ago#5 best place to farm exp? i am level 52 in my 1st playthrough i am too weak to do grade farming on chaos, my party DIES a lot so lowering the grade i get. |
Spartaneus (Topic Creator)7 years ago#6 ^Where are you in the story? Judging by your level, I'd hazard a guess that you're almost at or in the Baird Marsh? My post was about post-game grinding for levels. I never had any trouble with being under levelled in this game - normal encounters won't give you much xp but fighting dangerous encounters will. I played the majority of the story on hard and switching to intense for boss fights only. Chaos I didn't bother with until post-game. Turn down your difficulty to hard and fight dangerous encounters (it's a nice balance of difficulty for a first playthrough) and you'll gain levels without much difficulty. I'm sure you already know but tweak your artes for the enemies you're facing to gain weakness combo damage bonuses. |
